If you're a builder or contractor, you may want to hire a builder's cleaning service to make your new properties look presentable for potential tenants or buyers, and to ensure your work looks its best after a renovation or other such repair work. There is a difference between a builder's clean and a standard commercial cleaning service, however, and knowing these differences will ensure you choose the right company for your work. Note a few of those differences here.

High dust removal

Standard commercial cleaning services will usually include dusting, but rarely does a building need areas like high vents, light fixtures, ceiling fixtures, and other such pieces dusted regularly. After a build or renovation, dust easily settles into these areas that may be overlooked by standard commercial cleaners; some may not even be able to reach them without the right extension tools and ladders. A builder's clean will usually include this high dust removal as part of their standard service.

Cleaning inside cupboards and cabinets

Office cleaners may wipe down the outside of cabinets and kitchen cupboards, but rarely do they clean out the inside of these since they're usually full of papers, files, dishes, and other items and don't need regular interior cleaning. New construction or renovation will usually mean drywall dust, sawdust, and other debris inside these empty cabinets. Wiping down the front is not sufficient after a new build or renovation, as the dust inside may be so thick that it requires a vacuum of some sort rather than simple damp rags. A builder's clean service will typically have the right equipment for making quick work of this without leaving streaks or water marks behind.

Window and mirror caulk

Putting in new windows and mirrors in frames often involve caulk lines left behind that may not be cleaned by a builder or glass installer. This caulk needs to be scraped away, but the right tools and techniques need to be used so that the glass itself doesn't get scratched or damaged. Using a rag with glass cleaner isn't enough to clean this caulk and this might even make it worse if the caulk were to get smeared across the front of the glass. A builder's cleaning service will have the right light-duty scrapers meant for getting these fine lines of caulk off the glass without damaging its surface and will be able to do so easily without leaving streaks or smears behind.
